On 11 December 2020, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED), reported extremely low temperatures affecting several communities in Guatemala. To date, 558 people have been taken to 7 open shelters in the departments of Guatemala, Quiché, Totonicapán, and Quetzaltenango. Cold conditions are expected tonight, 11 December, especially in the departments of Huehuetenango, Quetzaltenango, San Marcos, Sololá, Totonicapán, and Quiché.
