On 26 August 2020, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NOAA) reported that Hurricane Laura is a category 4 hurricane; wind and water levels are increasing as Hurricane Laura is moving toward the northwest of the Gulf Coast. A Hurricane Warning is in effect for San Luis Pass Texas to Intracoastal City Louisiana and a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect from Sargent Texas to San Luis Pass. Hurricane conditions are expected in the hurricane warning area tonight and tomorrow. Several tornadoes are expected late this afternoon through tonight over Louisiana, southeast Texas, and southwestern Mississippi. The report is available in English at: NOAA.
