United States of America (Update)

On 19 August 2020, the Office of the Governor of the State of California, United States, provided an update on the wildfire situation in the state. Since the 18 August report, there are 367 new wildfires burning statewide and over 10,000 lightning strikes; 23 major fires are occurring around San Mateo and Santa Cruz cities. According to the Sacramento National Weather Service, smoke due to fires will cause air quality issues. Media reported, to date, more than 300,000 acres of land burned across the state of California; the blaze affected homes outside Vacaville, Solano County and destroyed 50 homes. Additional evacuations were held in the counties of Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, San Joaquin, and Stanislaus. On 18 August 2020, media reported, heavy rain affected the eight areas in Malambo Municipality, Atlantico Department: El Manguito, El Pasito, Marquetalia, El Morrito, Villa Esther, La Victoria, Centro, and barrio Abajo.
