On 7 April 2021, according to the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM per its acronym in Spanish) daily bulletin, the ongoing heavy rain has caused sudden increases in the Sucio and Urumita Rivers affecting 180 homes and approximately 52 commercial buildings in La Playita, Puente Tierra, Carrera Uribe, Carrera Murillo Toro, and Plaza de Mercado. Additionally, in Antioquia, the overflow of the San Juan River has damaged 6 homes in the municipality of Salgar, while sudden rise and overflowing of the Medellín river has affected another 8 houses. Similarly, in Guaviare, sudden flooding in the lower part of the Ariari River affected 60 families in El Dorado Municipality. Media is reporting landslides in the Andean, Caribbean, Orinoco, and Pacific Regions; the death of 3 people in Florencia City, Department of Caquetá; and a landslide on 5 April causing a building to collapse while another 5 people were injured and 325 people affected by flooding in Quípama Town (Boyacá Department). Peru

On 6 April 2021, according the National Institute of Civil Defense (INDECI per its acronym in Spanish), heavy rainfall in the Amazonas Department caused a landslide damaging a total of 23 homes, basic services (potable water service), and the Pedro Ruiz Gallo - Chachapoyas highway in the Tingorbamba, San Pablo, Nuevo Horizonte, and Matiaza Rimachi sectors, in the district of Valera, province of Bongará. According to the District Municipality of Valera, the families affected by this event were taken to safety and are spending the night in the camp of the Regional Directorate of Transport and Communications of the jurisdiction and the community center.
