On Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM (Brasilia, GMT-3), BIREME will host the webinar “VHL & LILACS - Launch of the 2025 Calendar of Meetings with the MedCarib Network” (access here), with the opening presentation "Innovation in Information Products and Services". This is the launch of a series of meetings organized by BIREME as part of its technical cooperation program focused on Strengthening Health Information Networks in Latin America and the Caribbean.
For the fifth consecutive year, BIREME is organizing this series of meetings with the VHL Network, including dedicated sessions with the MedCarib Network since 2024. The aim is to promote knowledge and develop skills for the development, application and use of VHL products and services, in addition to strengthening LILACS and DeCS/MeSH.

Context
The Health Information Networks are essential to expand and strengthen BIREME’s initiatives related to the Virtual Health Library (VHL), the LILACS database (scientific health information from Latin America and the Caribbean countries), the multilingual thesaurus of health sciences descriptors DeCS/MeSH, and other information sources and services. These networks bring together information professionals from cooperating institutions throughout Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), as well as from other countries such as the United States, Spain, Portugal, and Mozambique.
The 2025 Calendar includes 25 meetings throughout the year, covering topics of major interest to the VHL and MedCarib Networks. The meetings are held on Thursdays, with program running through November.

- Slide presentations on Zenodo.
