The PAHO/WHO TTO Country Office mission in Trinidad and Tobago which will focus on enhancing the country’s ability to track and monitor the spread of respiratory viruses. The aim of the mission is to strengthen the systems that detect these viruses. By improving these systems, the country will be better poised to handle future outbreaks and keep communities safe.

Context
In 2017, following an extensive consultation process with Indigenous leaders, Afro-descendants and members of other ethnic groups, PAHO Member States unanimously approved the first Policy on Ethnicity and Health.
PAHO will hold the regional meeting "Human Genomics for Health: Enhancing the Impact of Effective Research" in Brasilia, Brazil, on May 15-16, 2024, as a first step to promote the implementation of genomics in clinical medicine and public health, and in strengthening genomics research in the Americas.
This is the fifth meeting in a series of virtual seminars that are being developed to discuss strategies to increase access to health in the Americas, with a Primary Health Care (PHC) perspective.
