PAHO NHWA Webinar on Global Reporting Commitments with special emphasis on the SoWN

As the deadlines for reporting the global commitments draw near for the upcoming World Health Assembly (WHA), it becomes imperative to extend robust support to countries in their data collection and reporting related to the National Health Workforce Account (NHWA) platform, as it serves as a repository of information essential for fulfilling these commitments.
 
Earlier this year, the World Health Organization (WHO) provided NHWA Focal Points with pertinent information regarding the SoWN report, including country profiles with the nursing indicators being collected. Moreover, in March, a webinar was conducted to offer guidance and assistance for this year's data collection process.

To ensure adequate data preparation for the reports, the deadline for this year's data cycle collection in the NHWA platform has been set to June 30, 2024. The focus of this year's global reporting will encompass various aspects, including:

• Health workers stock by occupation for the SDG 3.c.1 report, and the Global strategy on human resources for health: Workforce 2030 (WHA69.19).
• Data on the global status of nursing for the State of World’s Nursing (SoWN) report and the Strengthening nursing and midwifery: investments in education, jobs, leadership, and service delivery (WHA74.15).
• NHWA Indicators 1-07 and 1-08 on the migration of health workers for the Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel (WHA63.16).
• Other health occupations: community health workers (WHA72.3), traditional medicine and complementary health workers (WHA72.3), epidemiologists, and field epidemiologists (WHA75.17).
