This regional report on the situation of tuberculosis in the Americas contains information from 2020, provided by the countries of the Region through the World Health Organization's tuberculosis data collection system. These data have been consolidated and analyzed at the regional level. In addition to presenting the epidemiological and programmatic situation in the Americas, the report aims to raise awareness and motivate all stakeholders in the prevention and control of this disease. The report records the Region's achievements, but also the gaps to be addressed in diagnosis, treatment, comorbidities, vulnerable populations, risk factors, and funding. Finally, recommendations are provided for further progress towards the elimination of tuberculosis in the Region within the framework of the End TB Strategy, the Sustainable Development Goals, and the commitments made at the high-level meeting on ending tuberculosis held by the United Nations in 2018, including lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic.
