Population Source Harmonization

To harmonize the immunization data of the countries with each other and between the regions of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) will use the population estimates of the United Nations Population Division as of January 2021 for: 1) calculating the regional and country rate for the notification of Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) in children under 15 years of age; 2) calculating the regional and country rate for the notification of suspected measles and rubella cases over the total population of the country.
