The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) through this infographic presents an extract of the 2023 indicators that were collected through the PAHO/WHO and UNICEF Joint Reporting Form on Immunization (JRF), a key tool that provides a broad and comprehensive view of the impact, scope, and gaps in immunization programs in the countries and territories of the Region of the Americas. These data, collected each year, are essential to guide health policies, as well as global, regional, and national goals. The infographic based on this extracted data contains updates on all components of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI): implementation, policy priority, planning and programming, organization and coordination, epidemiological surveillance, financial management and human resources, training and supervision, information systems, cold chain, vaccine and supply delivery, evaluation and research, social communication and demand creation, and vaccine safety. It also includes regional coverages for different vaccines, including the first dose of the diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine (DTP1), third dose of this vaccine (DTP3), first dose of the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine (MMR1), second dose of this vaccine (MMR2), and the numbers of children vaccinated in a disaggregated manner. Each of these components is expanded on with specific information from 2023 per country and reflecting the Region as a whole -- whether in terms of the number of countries and territories that conducted rapid vaccination monitoring by 2023, extrapolated data on HPV vaccination per country and territory, and the number of countries and territories that vaccinate pregnant women, among other important data indicators.
