The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) publishes the Immunization Newsletter four times a year in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. Its purpose is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information on immunization programs in the Region of the Americas and beyond. It has been published since 1979 in English and Spanish, with French and Portuguese versions beginning in 2001 and 2019, respectively. The December 2023 issue of the quarterly Immunization Newsletter covers the following topics: a workshop on community engagement and the communication vaccination-related risks that was conducted in Lima, Peru, in October 2023 and participated by 10 South American countries; What I have learned…By Anne Eudes Jean Baptiste, Regional Immunization Advisor for the Special Program on Comprehensive Immunization (CIM) at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO); Building better immunity: A life course approach to healthy longevity; Vaccination knowledge, attitudes, and practices among health workers with an emphasis on COVID-19 vaccines in Paraguay; PAHO and CDC work together to build regional capacities to address public health challenges; The ethics of vaccine mandates: Advancing the debate to prepare for the future; and Enhancing capacity for outbreak response and microplanning through workshops in Guatemala. These articles provide explorations and updates on various aspects of immunization programs in the Region, showcasing the work that is being done with detail and primary sources of information. The Immunization Newsletter is a reliable and regular way to see the expansive technical work being done in this field, by PAHO, ministries of health, and in collaboration with other entities and international organizations.
