The Strategy and Plan of Action for the Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV and Congenital Syphilis approved in 2010 in Resolution CD50.R12 of the 50th Directing Council by the Member States of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) establishes the goal of eliminating mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of HIV and congenital syphilis by 2015.
