Action Plan to eliminate human rabies transmitted by Dogs (2013)

Document view

Rabies is a neglected zoonotic disease that affects especially communities with inadequate access to health services. Historically, most cases of human rabies transmitted by dogs have occurred in vulnerable populations under precarious living and working conditions. Typically, these communities have a large proportion of dogs that have not been vaccinated against rabies1 and where there is an insufficient availability of immunobiologicals for preventive or post‐exposure prophylaxis.
