About PAHO/WHO Caribbean Subregional Program Coordination in Barbados

The Subregional level of technical cooperation (TC) undertaken by the Pan American Health Organizations (PAHO), the specialized health agency of the Inter-American system and Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO) is unique among WHO regions, and complements PAHO/WHO’s work at national, regional, and global levels. The hallmark of this level of TC is the Organization’s cooperation with major Subregional political integration entities and their institutions to address their (and their member states’ collective) health policies, strategies, and plans, ultimately contributing to the achievement of national health development objectives, PAHO/WHO’s and Member States.
