In Suriname, the initiative has a national focus with activities planned in each of the 10 districts: Brokopondo, Commewijne, Coronie, Marowijne, Nickerie, Para, Paramaribo, Saramacca, Sipalwini, and Wanika. It will support the Expanded Program on Immunization and the Maternal and Neonatal Health Action Plan, as well as integrated programming on immunization and neglected communicable diseases.
In addition, activities include developing a national sexual and reproductive health and rights strategy for adolescents, developing capacities in vector control strategies and developing nutritional guidelines for newborns, including breastfeeding practices.
