In Guatemala, the initiative is being implemented in the department of Huehuetenango. The actions support the implementation of the national plan to reduce maternal and infant mortality, increasing access and availability of safe blood, strengthening maternal and neonatal information systems and incorporating mental health components into local health systems. Other activities include increased access to HIV testing for pregnant women and the development of action plans to eliminate malnutrition in women and children.
