International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women 2024 - 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

25 November to 10 December

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the 16 Days of Activism is a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about the profound impact that gender-based violence has, not only on the physical and mental health of survivors but also at a social level and on the development of our communities.

This year, the campaign slogan is "Towards 30 years of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action - a visionary blueprint for achieving gender equality and women’s and girls’ rights everywhere, UNITE to end violence against women and girls."

This period invites us to reaffirm our commitment to collective action, working together to build a future where equality and respect prevail. It is a call to join forces, share resources, and create effective strategies that bring us closer to eradicating violence and protecting the rights of all women and girls.

CALL TO ACTION

Today, it is more urgent than ever to drive change and strengthen collaboration to eradicate violence against women and girls.

This issue is not new in our Region, so we have extensive experience and knowledge to share. Let us take advantage of this potential to move forward on this crucial agenda and build a future without violence.

Let us act now!

We all have a role to play.
