An opportunity exists for an International Consultant to facilitate the development of a National Strategy for Health Laboratory Services at Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) Guyana Country Office. The successful candidate will support the Ministry of Health in the development and implementation of Guyana's National Strategy for Health Laboratory Services.
Technical expertise
Excellent knowledge of laboratories;
Experience in developing National Strategic Plans;
Experience in strategic planning and capacity building;
Strong professional and academic writing skills;
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office applications (MS-Office Word, Excel, and Power Point);
Fluency in English is required;
Experience working with PAHO/WHO, other United Nations Agencies and multiple stakeholders would be an asset.
Education/Experience
A Master's degree in public health, health systems management or related field with a minimum of 8 years relevant working experience in laboratories, including at least one year in a managerial or supervisory position will be an asset.
The incumbent should be based in Guyana under the direct supervision of the PAHO/WHO Guyana country office Advisor for Health Surveillance, Disease Prevention and Control. The total duration of the assignment is four (4) months.
