World Hepatitis Day 2020

Since 2011, PAHO/WHO has been observing the 28 July as the World Hepatitis Day, a date to promote discussions, raise awareness, and urge actions to prevent and control viral hepatitis. Each year WHO elects a key theme to be highlighted, in which steps are required to achieve the 2030 global targets.

For World Hepatitis Day 2020, the theme is “Hepatitis Free Future” and will focus on: a) elimination of viral hepatitis, highlighting the elimination of mother-to-child and early childhood transmission of hepatitis B; b) integrated services for viral hepatitis; and c) ensuring continuity of hepatitis services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
