Tropical Depression Ida  

United States of America (Update)  

On 3 September, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reported on Tropical Depression Ida. In Louisiana overall search and rescue activities are projected to end by 4 September. Due to 137 water systems being damaged by the passage of Ida, 887,000 people are under boil water advisories. Louisiana has evacuated 14 hospitals and has partially reopened several previously closed facilities. There are 827,000 people without power and 191 generators are in use across impacted areas of Louisiana. In New Jersey, a total of 6 shelters are open with 335 occupants; in New York 1 shelter is open with 18 occupants. There have been 4 fatalities in New York and 14 fatalities in New Jersey, however, a media report has indicated at least 45 deaths due to the passage of theTropical Depression Ida. Wildfire  

United States of America (Update) 

On 3 September, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided an update on the Caldor fire currently occurring in El Dorado County, California. The fire has burned 210,893 acres and it is 27% contained. There are mandatory evacuations in effect for 49,763 people from the Tahoe Basin into Nevada. There are 9 congregate shelters open with 380 occupants and 2 non-congregate shelters open with 6 occupants. In addition, there are 2,234 people without power in El Dorado County. In total, 30,878 houses are threatened, 29 houses have been damaged, and 649 houses have been destroyed. There have been 3 injuries. The report is available at: FEMA.
